The New Crew - Take the Tour!
The goal of the New Crew was simple according to Nick Rizzo, founder and President of Campus Crew. "We wanted to capture the fun & spirit of the classic collegiate lifestyle."
One look at the newly opened 3,000 square foot Campus Crew location and it's clear that the company met their objective. Visitors to the store are greeted by a 1965 Volkswagon van outfitted with an LCD flat screen playing local college sporting events. Each fitting room is different representing the variety of rooms in a college frat house. One is a shower complete with tiles, faucets & taps, another, referred to affectionately as the ‘night after’ room, features an upside down bathroom. Look up. Yes that’s the toilet!
"We want our customer to feel as if they have arrived at their favorite place," says Darrin Sayles, Director Of Store Operations for the rapidly growing clothing chain. "We wanted to create a fun and unique, vintage, rustic, shabby boutique. The new store is a 100 year old frat house mixed with equal parts of family cottage, classic pub and your eccentric uncle’s attic. The result is a mix of tradition, heritage and old school fun!”
Familiarity & nostalgia lead the charge for the New Crew. Store fixtures appear worn and weathered. Furniture is antique and walls are distressed; setting the atmosphere for a simpler time. Rizzo explains it this way. "I think anyone can relate to the era of frat house antics, tradition and fun. The new store celebrates that heritage and embraces the campus culture. After all, we are Campus Crew."
